Native Plant Nurseries in Iowa

Iowa was once covered by one of the most expansive tallgrass prairie ecosystems on Earth. Today less than 0.1% of Iowa's native prairie survives, and the state's native plant restoration movement focuses heavily on reconstructing prairie remnants, oak savanna edges, and riparian corridors. Native plants sourced from Iowa's own seed stocks are adapted to the state's extreme temperature swings and heavy clay soils.
